It is nice that these expos are there for the inventor to show their stuff, but foe me and I think for some others that are in a trench that is a difficult place to go. What I am talking about is the finances of getting your invention to that point of being reality.
I would love to get some of my inventions out to the public to see, but do to hard times I am running into hard times. I know there are those out there that think that they are in the samr boat as me. May be they are. They would realize that with not money and with no one to back you, you are out on a very long limb.
You probably don’t want to know my perdicament, so all I will say I am living out of a car. So With that all I would like to say for those whom have the avenues of finances I applaude you and hope that one day I would have the luck and people that beleived in you, would believe in me. And some of that luck would come my way.
Again thank those who put on these expos.
Hi
I have a finished product that you were to market, will you be marketing it or should I come to the expo and market it myself? That mean I pay the $1500.00 and you get nothing. I want to know before I pay my $1500.00 to purchase a spot at the expo.

Larry,
Since InventionHome is sponsoring both the National Hardware Show and Response Expo 2010 inventor areas, we will have a booth at both shows to market our inventions. However, we wanted to communicate these opportunities to our inventors because some may want to secure their own booth at the show. Exhibiting at tradeshows is only a small component of our overall marketing strategy. The major component is proactively sharing inventions directly with the companies via our HotLinks service. Tradeshows provides a great opportunity to continue meeting and developing new relationships with companies as well as pitching inventions on the spot. For example, by sponsoring and exhibiting at these shows, we will make hundreds of new contacts and relationships with companies looking for inventions. After the show, we will then follow up with these companies and pitch them our client’s inventions that fit their interests / categories. This is an ongoing process, which means we’re continually pitching inventions to existing and new contacts as they are developed.
As for the cost of the booth, inventors would have to work directly with the tradeshow coordinators, we have nothing to do with the cost and booths themselves and NO we do not make any money from the booths.
It is recommended for Inventors to have finished products or good prototypes available to demonstrate to exhibit at a show and it is wise to have patent protection in place before exhibiting at a tradeshow.
Will there be an inventors tradeshow in Las Vegas anytime in the near future?
Will there be an inventors tradeshow anytime in the near future?
Will you be representing our products even if they are not at prototype stage?
Yes, the goal is to represent all of our products/inventions. Typically, we will take a handfull of prototypes to demonstrate and a binder of printed sales sheets for inventions without prototypes. Ultimately, we strive to make the relationship, discuss some products/inventions on site and then to follow up after the show with more information on all the products/inventions that meet the company’s interests/criteria.
The trend in the industry is for the larger product shows to have a dedicated area or sub-section of the show specifically for inventors to exhibit. The National Hardware Show, Response Expo and the International Housewares Show have all moved to this format. It makes a lot of sense since you already have a large established show with thousands of buyers attending. If you are an inventor interesting in exhibiting your product at a tradeshow, this is the route to take. Not sure I would invest in an inventor only tradeshow, where real buyers are scarce. Think about connecting with a large established industry product tradeshow like the ones I mentioned above. Both the National Hardware Show and Response Expo have inventors booths still available but, they will be gone soon.

Yes. The National Hardware Show is scheduled for May 4-6th. You can exhibit in the Inventors Spotlight area – email John Lederer at – JLederer@reedexpo.com for booth information.
Also, the United Inventors Association and the National Hardware Association are hosting an inventors conference called Get Ready for Retail scheduled for May 3rd at the Hardwares Show. This is a great educational conference for inventors and all are invited to attend. Click for details – http://nationalhardwareshow.com/en/Show-Information/Get-Ready-For-Retail/
I have a partial finished prototype that I am developing. My concern is exposing my product to the masses without the risk of copying my product a taking the profits with them. Other than a concrete Design Disclosure Agreement, how do I protect what is rightfully my invention?
Russell,
You are correct in your concerns, I would not advise that you exhibit at a tradeshow unless you are at least patent pending. Best case would be a utility patent on file but you could also have a provisional patent application filed, however, understand that publicly disclosing your idea at a tradeshow with a provisional will start a barring event, which means you’ll need to have your utility application filed within 12 months of the public disclosure or you’ll lose rights.
Since InventionHome attends all the major tradeshows and we have existing relationships with thousands of companies, we can get you in front of companies without attending the tradeshows. Feel free to call our office at 866-844-6512 or email us at info@inventionhome.com or you may want to discuss your situation with your patent attorney for legal advice.
Thanks.
I WILL VERY MUCH APPRECIATE INFORMATION ON EXHIBITING AT THE MAY 3-6 SHOW AS WELL AS INFORMATION ON THE SAN DIEGO INVENTORS INDUSTRY ASSN. SHOW IN SAN DIEGO.
PLEASE SEND, IF YOU ARE ABLE, INFORMATION ON ATTENDING IF AN EXHIBITING TABLE AND EVENTS ARE NOT WITHIN MY MEANS.
THANK YOUR FOR ANY COURTESY YOU MAY SHOW ME.
