In this business, inventors and companies alike strive to develop another runaway hit TV product like the Snuggie®, “America’s favorite blanket with sleeves”.  We at InventionHome can attest to the hard work and incredible good fortune it takes to get a shot at infomercial success.  We’re hoping that a new television campaign starting this week will turn “rags to riches” for our inventor Daria W.

Daria’s product, which she dubbed “The Cargo Sling” caught the attention of Allstar Marketing Group, maker of the celebrated Snuggie.  After a few modifications to the product, a spiffy new name, and completion of a test infomercial, it’s now sink or swim time as Allstar tests the 2-minute commercial on national television this week.

The product, re-named “BundleBuddy”, consists of a band of Lycra material with integral pockets.  It slips easily around auto seats to provide a secure way to hold down everything from groceries, to purses, to take-out food.  No longer will your belongings be thrown onto the car floor when you brake suddenly or take a sharp turn.

View commercial.

So we ask you to send good karma, happy thoughts, and maybe even order a Bundle Buddy for yourself, and let’s root on fellow inventor Daria!

Are you an inventor with an awesome product or entrepreneur with a stellar business idea?  If so, Mark Burnett Productions, creator of smash television hits, “Survivor” and “The Apprentice” would love to hear from you.

The new show called “Shark Tank”, scheduled to air this fall on ABC, is a primetime opportunity for you to pitch your idea/product to a panel of five, tough judges and millions of television viewers.   By the way, the show isn’t called “Shark Tank” because the producers weren’t able to come up with a better name.   Applicants chosen as contestants must convince a panel of five savvy sharks to invest in their product/idea versus the others.

I’m sure a number of you are up for the challenge.   If you’re interested in becoming a contestant or learning more about “Shark Tank”, visit http://www.enterthesharktank.com/

Monroeville, PA – InventionHome is pleased to feature a patent-protected teaching tool for children called Skissors.  Independent inventors Dawn and Bob Kenny are working with InventionHome to market and license their product to companies in exchange for royalties.

The idea for Skissors began when the mom and dad team noticed their children handling scissors at home.  Fearing their children could injure themselves, Dawn and Bob thought about solutions and created a prototype combining hole covers built into a traditional pair of scissors.  The simple and effective prototype forces a child to properly insert their thumb and index finger the correct depth into the wholes and safely use the tool for home and school projects.

The Kenny’s product was awarded a utility patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

InventionHome continues to market the Kenny’s product to interested companies.  For more information on Skissors or invention-related services please contact InventionHome at (866) 844-6512.

Invention of the Week:  Doggie Fountain

For help with an idea, request info. http://www.inventionhome.com/info/index.asp?referred=wordpress.

 doggie_fountain14

This week’s featured invention is truly “for the dogs”…
The innovative “Doggie Fountain” was invented by Tony Lytle.  Tony has a Utility Patent on file for his unique invention, which operates similar to a drinking fountain but is modified to provide clean, fresh water for friends of the four-legged variety.

Doggie Fountain hooks up easily to an outdoor hose, and features a paddle that is depressed by the dog’s paw in order to activate the water flow. With minimal training, the pet can easily learn how to use the device.  Sure beats the dirty (and often empty) water bowls of yester-year!  Tony has produced samples both in stainless steel and in plastic, and has sold in limited quantities.
